FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Fulbright Student Program
Fulbright Student Program is non-degree program designed for independent research in libraries and/or field research in order to obtain a master's or doctoral degrees in Bosnia after returning from America. Students will develop professional contacts in their field, improve their scientific work, gain international experience and enrich themselves. Deadline: August 1st
Fulbright Scholar Program
Fulbright Scholar Program brings scholars to the United States for one academic year of professional studies with the aim of increasing mutual understanding between people of the United States and the people who come from other cultures. Applicants must have a doctoral degree and be willing to serve as ambassadors of their culture. Deadline: November 1st
Fulbright Science and Technology Program
This scholarship is the most prestigious international scholarships in science and technology. People who had been granted scholarship get the opportunity to receive three years of doctoral study at top U.S. universities. After the expiry of three years, it is expected from U.S. universities to cover the remaining costs to complete a doctorate. Deadline: April 1st
Fulbright Visiting Specialist Program
This program brings professionals who are in the middle of their career in the United States for 10 months of academic and professional work. The program offers a variety of combinations of classes, independent projects, practices, seminars, field visits and consultations with staff and experts from U.S. universities. The deadline for application: September 1st
Hubert H. Humphrey Program
Scholars and practitioners with excellent results in academic, professional and social fields are invited to the United States for 3 to 6 weeks of intensive classes, lectures and public addresses in the U.S. colleges and universities. Embassy invites participants for this program.
Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP)
JFDP program provides teachers, teaching assistants and aides who work in universities the opportunity to experience the practice of teaching and curriculum development at universities in the United States. JFDP participants observe classes at leading universities, participate in professional conferences and attend seminars and practical training in their field of study. Deadline: July 1st
Study of the United States Institutes for Scholars (SUSI)
Studies Institute of the United States is the intense post-graduate academic program with integrated study tours whose purpose is to provide foreign university staff and other scientists the opportunity to deepen their understanding of American society, culture and institutions. Embassy invites participants for this program.
Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES)
YES is a new secondary school exchange program that sends students from 15 secondary schools in BiH in the U.S. during one academic year. Students attend American high school and live with American host families. YES is the unique way in which young people learn about American culture, and at the same time helping to educate Americans about their culture and country. Deadline: Contact the American Councils in August for the exact dates of testing, testing is usually in October.
Youth Leadership Program
Youth Leadership Program is a six-month program with 3 separate training segments: Orientation program before leaving in Sarajevo, four-week program that offers the opportunity for 18 students and 3 teachers to explore the principles of leadership and social activism in the United States, and four-month program during which participants work on project at home. Embassy invites participants for this program. Deadline: late November.
